Beautiful complete redesign of a home in Rollingwood, located just 10 minutes outside of downtown Austin. I created a subtly eclectic feel for this oasis by bringing in colors that my clients loved, along with lush fabrics and vibrant wallpaper. Read more about the design below.
The bright tones of the furniture and accessories I picked for the living room contrasted the natural wood doorways and built-in chairs. This main room is not just stylish, but is also designed to be a gathering place for visitors with seating options that allow for effortless fluctuation in the space.
For the adjoining dining area, I helped my clients pick a wallpaper pattern that mimicked the energetic vibe of the dinner parties they host at their home. The framed artwork hung throughout the rooms served as inspiration for the entire project and were central to my clients’ vision for the space. Austin-based faux finish artist Zita created gorgeous backdrops for these pieces of artwork on accent walls in the living room.
The design of the bedroom is a slight nod to old Hollywood, with dramatic dark and interesting walls hand-painted by Zita, luxurious linens, and deco accessories. I extended the fresh yet classic look to the bathroom; contrasting bold patterned walls and gold accents with white cabinetry and countertops to distinguish the space. I love the lighting we chose which illuminates the gold undertones of the hand-painted stenciling on the walls which was also done by Zita. Simple shapes like the ones I used for the drawer pulls are perfect additions to modernize a space.
I also selected new patio furniture for the covered dining area by an impressive outdoor fireplace, incorporating colors from the interior palette for this complete and cohesive redesign.
